Entrepreneurship Education

KEENStart™  offers educational opportunities and programs around entrepreneurship, design-thinking and innovation strategies.

For Youth

By designing learning experiences outside the traditional classroom, KEENStart™ prepares Kentucky students for the joining the workforce and becoming business creators. Entrepreneurship is a journey full of twists and turns. KEENStart™ brings framework to the process and helps young people see themselves as leaders who build enterprises and strong communities.

The Governor's School for Entrepreneurs is a residential summer program where creative, free-thinking high school students learn and do product innovation and business model design. GSE’s exploratory learning environment combines STEM skills with enterprise development. GSE immerses young people in the adventure of entrepreneurship.  In the words of one student entrepreneur: “I learned the basics of starting a business, how to be confident, how to be a good speaker, and how to be amazing."

What our alumni say about their experience:

“GSE changed my life. It provided me with the tools to have a successful future in the business world.“

“I am incredibly thankful for the opportunities and challenges GSE afforded me and everyone else. The program taught me so many new skills and introduced me to so many amazing people.” “GSE changed my way of thinking in everyday situations and how I face challenges with myself or with a group.” “The Governor's School for Entrepreneurs helped me realize my full potential as an entrepreneur and leader of my community. I am naturally introverted, however while attending GSE I discovered when I expressed my entrepreneurial spirit I could communicate my ideas effectively with others. This program was my form of expression. “
